I didn't plan a career in alternative therapies but am really glad that this is where my journey has led me.
I originally studied musical theatre but as I began to have health problems that could not be helped with allopathic medicine I explored the holistic world. Through this I had many experiences of a healing energy that through my training would become known to me as Qi. I experienced many different therapies as a patient, which led me to train in many more.
I instinctively felt drawn to train in acupuncture this was through my experience of the treatment as a patient and through the theory of Chinese medicine changing the philosophical view of my life.
I then undertook a three year professional training course at degree level in Acupuncture that enabled me to join the British Acupuncture Council
I also trained in Health Kinesiology, Allergy Antidotes and Emotional Freedom Technique. Although Acupuncture resonates with me most deeply it is nice to have these other modalities at my disposal if they are ever needed. I finished my training at the end of 2007 and proceeded to study on postgraduate courses including cosmetic acupuncture.
I was surprised at the results I could achieve with my patients and this has become my main speciality. But I still work with patients with chronic health conditions particularly in the area of gynaecology.
